Who We Are Confirmation EYC
Grace Point ChattEY Diocesan Youth Events
Fall EYC Retreat to Grace Point:
The youth are going to Grace Point, August 16-18, 2019. St. Timothy's youth in grades 6th-12th are welcome to attend. This is a great opportunity for our youth to form a community, an Episcopal Youth Community (EYC), at the beginning of the school year. Participants will receive a packing list and permission slip a week prior to leaving. The cost is $100. Scholarships are available on an as needed basis.
Regular Weekly Offerings:
Sunday School for 6th–12th grade
Youth Sunday School runs September through May from 9:30-10:20 downstairs in the youth room. During this time, youth will study and discuss the Bible, exploring the weekly lectionary. Youth will grow in their understanding of scripture while acquiring skill for critical thinking, faithful reflection, and discovery.
Episcopal Youth Community
We meet together for formation, dinner, and games. Topics for small group time include self, spirituality, and society. We meet Sunday Nights; 5–7 p.m. in the youth room (September–May).
St. Timothy’s offers confirmation preparation for teenagers who desire to make a public commitment to Jesus Christ in front of the bishop. Teenage confirmation classes are offered for those in 8th grade and above. The class meets Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm. to 7:00 pm at the church. Dates are October 3, 17, 24, November 7, 14, 28 with a morning retreat at the church on January 5.
Throughout the year, we will participate in Chattanooga Episcopal Youth (ChattEY). This is a gathering of regional youth sponsored by all the Episcopal congregations in southeast Tennessee. Our time together will include food, games, music, and outreach projects throughout the year. The 2018-2019 school year ChattEY theme is a year of service.
Happening is a spiritual awakening and renewal weekend where high school youth, and some adult participants, have a face-to-face encounter with Christ through Christian community. This is done through a series of talks, given by youth about their experiences in faith and in life. This weekend creates a safe space for transformation to occur. For Fall and Spring dates refer to the calendar.
New Beginnings provides a time and place in Christian Community to explore faith questions and more. The program also works to equip middle-school youth as leaders in their own parishes, and to engage them in the full life of their church. New Beginnings is open to youth (grades 6-8). Youth who have been through New Beginnings are welcome to attend again. For the Spring date refer to the calendar.

General Information about Youth at St. Timothy's:
All middle and high school aged parishioners are encouraged to participate in EYC. This group will meet on Sunday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00. This group will share fellowship together through recreation, a meal, and devotional study. Periodically, rather than meeting on Sunday evenings, the group will schedule a social event or service project which will take place at a location outside the church but will be coordinated in advance with parents of EYC members.
This group is led by Elizabeth Burns and a dedicated group of parent volunteers. Parents of EYC members are welcome to participate in all EYC events, service projects, and gatherings. For more information, contact Elizabeth Burns at firstname.lastname@example.org or join the group Facebook page!
