Health Ministry

The Parish Health Minister provides leadership, education and care to the members of the congregation:

Educator: Develops educational programs promoting wellness and health for the congregation.

Health Consultant: Meets with individuals, groups, and/or organizations on issues of health related to the whole person.

Home Visits: Visits homebound ill and medically compromised persons to encourage medical compliance, spiritual healing and family support.

Health Resource: Develops library of health information and health care resources appropriate to the needs of the Parish.

Counselor: Available to listen, support and refer as appropriate. Facilitates/develops support groups as needed or refers to existing support groups.

Advocate: Facilitates access to health care, insurance and interpretation of "medical" language.

Health Ministry Council: Advises and works with the Parish Health Minister to develop programs for the Parish.
